Note
No need for the labels "Personal Details," "Address," "Phone," etc. in the first section. The information is self-evident of what they are, yes?
Note
Date of Birth really isnt used on resumes in the U.S. If youre over 40, employers are not allowed to ask and if youre under 40, why give them an excuse to screen you out for being too young?
Note
As discussed, remove this information.
Note
You may want to consider bullet points here. It rather than a block of text, bullet points allow recruiters to more quickly find the information theyre looking for.
Note
In addition to bullets focus on what you achieved, rather than what positions you held. Quantify your experience, it will be much more effective.

Remove this and any other salary information on your resume. Make sure you get the upper hand in any negotiation by presenting yourself correctly.

Hi Duncan, I'm not quite sure what kind of employement you are looking for. An objective may help unless you plan on sending your resume to a targeted audience that knows would know you want something in creative design. I understand you're in U.K. so please disregard my note about your birthdate and see what's common in your country. I don't think the phrase "Whilst working in my current job in order to pay the bills" is necessary. I have no comment on the rest of the preface. For your different positions, you should just remove all the I's and make the information bulleted points. The resume being about you is a given. I am not sure whether it's a UK norm to list salary expectations in your resume. The goal of a resume is to get you an interview, not a salary negotiation. The only thing I see that it would do is to screen you out from either being too low or too high. Worst is that it limits you; what if the employer would have been willing to pay more? I'm also not sure if it's a UK norm to list references. Only when the prospective employer asks should you give them your reference list. That way you can pre-warn your references and maybe give them insights to the company in terms of what to highlight about you based on what you know the company is looking for. Also, you control that your references aren't being bombarded fielding questions about you by just anyone. Best Regards and good luck. Rey

Duncan, I agree with Rey's comment. You should not disclose your date of birth or salary information on your resume/CV. Specifically, salary information should NOT be discussed until after they have presented you an offer. This strategy will provide you the most leverage during the negotiation. Additionally, it looks like you are leaning more towards a CV than a resume. Given your UK background, that should work best, although some employers would prefer shorter (1 page) resume style applications. I have a few other comments, but otherwise it looks good. Best of luck.

Hi rey and Big4, thank you for your useful comments, with regards to: salary expectations, this was accidentally left on from a previous job application which required this on the cv. I have indeed been sending this cv only to a target market for a creative design job, this is my career route of choice and my aim is to secure myself a job in that industry. but i really do appreciate all of the comments and will be taking all of the points into consideration. thank you for your input. Regards Duncan
